Amber Martin Johnson, a Crystal Lake native, graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy. Her background includes working for a Fortune 500 company in International Accounting and then as a Financial Analyst in Project Accounting. After a few years of the corporate environment, she decided to pursue a career in Public Accounting and joined one of the top 25 accounting firms in the Chicagoland area prior to joining Martin Accounting. According to Amber, "at Martin Accounting we know that being an accountant and tax consultant goes well beyond preparing 1040's and Financial Statements; we strive for service beyond the filing of tax forms and statements."
While Amber handles a variety of individual and business tax returns and planning, her emphasis is in estates and trusts. Amber is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, and has a Master's Degree in Taxation. amber@kmtaxman.com
Kenneth W. Martin, Sr., is an experienced business problem solver who draws on over 30 years of diversified experience. Born and raised in the McHenry County area, Ken began his career right after college working in industry, moved into the medical field as an Asst. Comptroller and then as a Comptroller for a chemical company. He opened his own accounting practice in 1970, the year of the first Illinois State Tax Return. In 2006, Ken’s daughter purchased the accounting firm and Ken continues to work in the family practice.

Joseph F. Johnson III, CFP ™, joined Martin Accounting & Tax Service after seven years with Bank One/JP Morgan Chase and Company as an Assistant Vice President in the Treasury Analytics Group. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and earned his Certified Cash Manager designation while working in the banking industry. Since joining the firm, he has become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP ™) Practitioner. Joe enjoys meeting new people and the challenge of preparing individual income tax returns while also helping clients plan their financial future.
